No this is wrong… maybe it was correct 5 years ago. Somewhere in WHM there is an option you click for this. I am trying to find where, as WHM isn’t very logical and very cluttered.

Let me first say. THANK YOU!!! I finally find something that works. I am not a coder and am wondering is there a way to change the format a bit so that it shows a dividing line between posts and shows the date….also if possible show the title and date on the first line, and the excerpt beneath it?

when you click on edit category, you can see something like action=edit&taxonomy=category&tag_ID=3&post_type=post in your url bar. From the url, look at tag_ID=3. This is your category id. ( in this case, you category id is 3 )

i can’t seem to find the category ID.. where do you find it? all i get are the slugs in the URL.

I’m using WordPress with P2 theme. Anywhere, all blog platform you mentioned does support custom theme. You can make your own unique theme.

Hi there would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re working with? I’m planning to start my own blog soon but I’m having a tough time making a decision between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something completely unique. P.S My apologies for getting off-topic but I had to ask!

Instead of a number for category ID my version of WP uses slugs. I enter the slug name for a category but all the categories still show up. I renames slugs to numbers IE: 1, 2, 3 and nothing shows. I remove category and all categories show. Hold on, just thought of something…

Okay, I opened each category in a browser and pulled out the ID from the URL, entered those IDs into the category string and now they work.

It would be nice if in Admin IDs were displayed for each category like the slugs are displayed.
